Dunlop DU SP01 MFS with Impressive Tyre Load Index

The Dunlop DU SP01 MFS is a high performance tyre with an impressive tyre load index range. It is best suited for sports cars, high end saloons and coupes and is able to easily carry the required weight exerted by the car it is fitted on. Hence wear and tear is minimised leading to extended tyre life.

Dunlop's registered Jointless Band Technology creates a tyre fit for high speeds on highways and enables difficult handling with relative ease. Its high traction allows for smoother handling and exceptional braking responsiveness. All this at very low noise levels too.

Load Index Explained

The load index of a tyre denotes the maximum weight it is capable of carrying under normal driving conditions. This index is usually represented by a numerical value which ranges from 62 to 126, where 62 denotes 265kgs and 126 denotes 1700kgs. Passenger car tyres usually have a load index range from 75 to 100, but it can be higher for some tyres. The following table gives a detailed description of the load index and its corresponding weight (in kgs).

The load index is one of many markings which are seen on the sidewall of a tyre. Other markings include width of the tyre (in millimetres), aspect ratio (height of the sidewall as a percentage of tyre width), R, B, D (either of the three denoting whether the tyre is a Radial, Bias or Diagonal, respectively), the diameter of the inner rim (in inches), the speed rating which is denoted by an alphabet; for example, "J" refers to 100 kmph, "Q" refers to 160 kmph and "V" to 240 kmph.
