Original Equipment (OE) All-Season tyres are the prevalent tyre choice for vehicles sold in the United States and Europe.
Developed for use on new cars and light trucks, these tyres provide a versatile blend of ride quality, noise comfort, treadwear, handling and year-round traction, even in light snow.
Small to medium sized family cars are the target of this tyre
The performance characteristics such as long life, improved ride comfort, good wet and dry handling and an attractive sidewall design are matching the requests for this class
The SZ40 features a uni-directional tread pattern based on the company’s wet weather Indy car tyre to improve wet performance, in particular handling, hydroplaning, braking and traction.
Super slant grooves for maximum water displacement
The launch of the Firehawk SZ90µ will be in two phases: phase 1 in January 2008 with 12 sizes for 16” to 18” rims in series 40 to 55; phase 2 in January 2009 with 6 sizes for 15” to 18” rims, series 50 and 55
Building further on Firestone’s “Togetherness” campaign, the new tyre has been specially developed for younger people who enjoy their cars and love going out on the road together. It will progressively replace the Firehawk SZ80 high-performance sports tyre introduced in 2003.
The Firehawk SZ90µ has a great-looking new tread pattern with a fresh, dynamic asymmetric design that provides a perfect balance between wet and dry performance. The symbol ‘µ’ is not coincidental, as it stands for the engineering symbol of friction – in this case denoting the tyre’s outstanding grip.
The tyre is focused more on the fun aspect of driving than pure sport, and targets cars such as the Peugeot 207, Renault Mégane, Opel Astra and Alfa Romeo 147, as well as sports models like the recent Opel GT.
Forgiving character with great balance between wet and dry
With very good grip and braking in dry conditions and average performance in wet conditions, the Firestone TZ200 is considered a good performer and value for the money tyre.
It provides a very quiet ride with little noise in or out of the car.
The Firestone TZ200 produces no vibration and rarely if ever needs to be rebalanced
The Vanhawk WAS introduced in the UK IN April 2004, progressively replacing Firestone's existing workhorse, the CV3000
The Vanhawk has provided improvements in wet and dry handling as well as in mileage performance
This longer wear life is due to the Vanhawk's wider tread width, combined with the continuous ribs around the tread which reduce the risk of irregular 'heel and toe' wear.
The tread compound was also specially selected for its excellent wear properties.
