May 2012: Goodyear tyre Is Not Affected By the Global Economic Crisis

The Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Company does not seem to be affected by the current global economic crisis as sales have risen during the 2012 first quarter.

This has come as a pleasant surprise since the industry is currently struggling with surging raw material prices which in turn affects the final product price and quality.

The highest income figure was recorded on the North American market as a result of the new innovative products that Goodyear had to offer as well as recognized high quality products.

The European, Middle East and Africa sales results were not that high due to the economic problems and the long warm winter.

Considering the current sales trend, Goodyear tyres is positive regarding its sales for 2012 and hopes to establish the year’s target in terms of sales and profit.

In the first three months of 2012 Goodyear sales reached a figure of $5.5 billion, which is 2% higher than that of the same period, 2011.

Unfortunately, the sales volume of tyres reached only 43 million units, down by 8% in comparison with the same period of 2011, which reflects a decrease in demand in the industry and an increase in prices.
