Goodyear Dunlop has launched an innovative carbon calculator specifically for trucks in the long haulage sector. A web based calculator, it can be accessed for free at www.fleet-calculator.eu .

Good Year Dunlop has made sure that the calculator factors all the real life situations that fleets encounter in the course of their day to day work. The calculator has been developed in coordination with Panteia/NEA, which was responsible for making available detailed market information from across Europe to ensure the accuracy of the model.

The Significance of the Fuel Efficiency Calculator

The current conditions are not very rosy for fleets given the rising fuel costs and stricter laws on carbon dioxide emissions.

Mr. Michael Rzonzef, Goodyear Dunlop Commercial Tyres Vice President said that this calculator was part of the company’s commitment to its fleet customers to help them reduce fuel costs.

Mr. Rzonzef added that with this simple to use calculator, fleets would no longer be confused by conflicting and (sometimes untrue) claims by manufacturers about the fuel efficiency of their tyres. He was confident that fleet operators, particularly small and medium business owners would find this tool very useful, as currently there is no other tool in the market that effectively answers their questions on the ROI of their various fuel efficiency measures.

The Fuel Efficiency Calculator will provide the following estimates to fleet owners and managers – reduction in fuel consumption in litres/100 km, yearly carbon dioxide savings in tonnes, total fuel savings in the year in litres and of course annual cost savings.
