June 2012: The First Company to Release AA Labelled Tyres

Goodyear was among the first companies to achieve AA labelling results during testing, but it seems that another tyre manufacturer that was able to achieve this will enter the market first.

The tyre manufacturer that will bring the first AA labelled tyres to the mass consumer market will be Pirelli.

Pirelli has presented to the public the new Cinturato P7 Blue passenger car tyre at the opening day of the industry known Reifen Forum 2012. The tyres seem to be the first tyre of their consumer niche which have achieved an A rating in both rolling resistance and wet grip.

The Cinturato P7 Blue that has reached this performance is the 235/45 R17 size model, tyre that comes as the next generation of the popular Cinturato P7.

Company representatives have declared that the new tyre model has surpassed the popular P7 model in various ways, among which the most significant are; a new compound, and a new tread pattern that focuses among other aspects on “optimization of the shoulder”.

The new Cinturato P7 Blue was one of the most important display items from Pirelli at the Reifen 2012. The company has not yet presented to the public the additional labels, but apparently we can expect to see the next releases in the following weeks of June.

At the Forum, Pirelli also presented to the public its new substitution model for the Scorpion Ice tyre, the Scorpion Winter. The new Scorpion tyre will bring such features as improved balance while driving in wet or cold conditions. The most distinguishable feature of the Scorpion is the fact that it comes with a new approach in terms of pattern.
