Continental tyres has bagged the coveted ‘best winter tyre’ recognition for its ContiWinterContact TS830P tyre at the Auto Express annual winter tyre awards. The awards were announced in Auto Express, UK’s leading weekly car magazine as well the monthly title Evo.

In recent times, there is increasing awareness in the UK about the importance of switching to winter tyres for greater safety and performance while driving in winter. Several tyre manufacturers including Continental have been engaged in carrying out awareness campaigns about the benefits of winter tyres.
As a popular magazine accessed by hundreds of motorists in UK, Auto Express took on the responsibility of doing its bit for winter tyre education by initiating the Auto Express Winter Tyre Awards two years ago.
The awards are intended to bring before the public the most beneficial and must-have products to tackle the challenges of winter driving suitably. In its December issue, Evo provides details of the ContiWinterContact TS830P performance by mentioning that they provide the best performance on snow and well as wet surface conditions during near freezing temperatures.
Evo further revealed that a wide range of winter tests were carried out the including evaluation of snow performance and road feel and refinement.
A total of six tyre brands in the size 225/45 R17 were considered for the test. The tests were conducted the Contidorm wet handling circuit.
The tyres fitted on vehicles were driven through several laps on this challenging circuit to understand traction and impact on steering comfort. The ContiWinterContact TS830P outperformed competitors in all parameters to win the best winter tyre crown.
