Infinity Confirms Launch of Ecofriendly Ecosis Tyre Range by End of 2012

Tyre manufacturer Infinity has announced that it will launch a new range of eco-friendly passenger car tyres by the end of this year. Titled the Ecosis, this range will supersede the company’s present product –the INF030.

Officials confirmed that the market launch of the Ecosis range will occur close to the end of 2012, after the product is first unveiled at Infinity’s ‘Partner’s Day’ that is slated to be held in China in May. Following this, there will be an official

European launch for the Ecosis in Germany in the course of the Reifen International Trade Show that will occur between 5th and 8th June 2012.

“Ecosis Range Developed Specifically for European Markets”, Says Infinity

The new Ecosis brand is the result of further development and improvements in a range that Infinity first introduced in 2006. Mr. Jorge Crespo, General Manager, Infinity Europe shared that the company felt that 2012 was the right time to further develop this model’s range.

He reiterated that the company had conducted detailed survey in the European markets to understand the needs of the customers. Mr. Crespo further added that the new Ecosis range incorporates all the latest improvements available in tyre technology to produce tyres that satisfy all the requirements of the customers.

Features of the Ecosis Range

Official sources from Infinity stated that the new Ecosis range would offer improved wet performance characteristics, as compared to its predecessor and will be a more balanced and complete product.

Also care is being taken to ensure compliance with new EU tyre labelling legislation that will become enforceable soon.

The Ecosis range has been developed with a greater proportion of silica to improve wet surface performance in terms of both grip and braking distance.

Also the aquaplaning features are improved to encourage more water deflection. The rolling resistance has been further reduced by the use of a new rubber compound in the composition. Finally, the overall finish is made better by the use of new aluminium moulds. The earlier products used steel moulds.

Ecosis Represents Eco-Friendly Fuel Efficiency

Though the name Ecosis, does give a sort of hint, officials confirmed that the new product design will actively promote better fuel efficiency and offer better environmental credentials.

Mr. Crespo stated that the tyre is being manufactured utilizing Infinity’s innovative “Eco-Friendly Fuel Efficient” (EFFE) manufacturing process. This, he said, has produced significantly encouraging results so far in initial tests in the areas of environment friendliness of the product. Mr. Crespo added that EFFE system produces tyres that are low carbon dioxide emitters and are thus perfect for today’s scenario.

“Ecosis Demonstrates our Commitment to the Environment”, Infinity

Mr. Crespo clarified that name Ecosis was chosen for the brand because it is an eco-friendly tyre. He said that the ‘green’ nature of this tyre would demonstrate the company’s commitment towards the environment. It further reiterates that environment protection and energy conservation are factors, which the company considers as serious issues.
