Feb 2012: Bridgestone launches all New A001 Weather Control Tyres
Bridgestone has launched an all new all weather tyre range – the A001 Weather Control- to help you cope with the unreliable British weather.
The British weather is famous world over for being unpredictable. This winter began mildly and last week saw an avalanche of snow in several areas across the country. What is a motorist to do in such a situation? Should he fit winter tyres only to find that the weather is incredibly mild? Or should he stick to his regular tyres and be at increased risk for accidents because it suddenly started snowing?
The Bridgestone A001 Weather Control has been designed to precisely put you out of this predicament.
The Rationale behind Developing the A001 Weather Control
Mr. Andy Dingley, Bridgestone Communications Manager is of the opinion that exclusive winter tyres are not called for to tackle winters in the UK. Besides, research has shown that a majority of the motorists find it cumbersome to switch tyres when the season changes, not in least because of the costs involved.
So they are likely to be driving on their summer tyres in winter too. As specific summer tyres are definitely not geared to meet even the mildest wet winter conditions, it compromises road safety significantly.
The solution, according to Mr. Dingley is a range of tyres suitable for the weather throughout the year. This obviates the need for expensive and time consuming switching of tyres and also keeps motorists safe. This has been the idea behind the development of the A001 Weather Control range.
Features of the A001 Weather Control
The tread pattern on Bridgestone’s Weather Control range has high density sipes on the edge, which provide greater traction, improving the handling and braking response on frozen, snow covered roads.
And in cases, when the weather is just wet and wintry (as opposed to cold and snowy), the A001 is effective due to its special silica compound that provides enhanced grip under these conditions.
Developed specifically for Certain European Countries
Bridgestone stated that the A001 Weather Control has been developed specifically for certain European markets, where winter weathers are wet and mild and may occasionally veer towards severe. Besides the UK, other markets intended for this range include Ireland, Belgium and Denmark. The tyre is intended to offer a safe and comfortable driving experience in these countries all round the year.
Mr. Dingley shared that as per their research, the current economy is forcing households on cut back on various automotive and tyre related expenditures.
And it is unfair to expect families to invest in winter tyre when perhaps, the need is not so great. However, having said that, it is unacceptable to increase the risk levels by driving on unsuitable tyres. The A001 Weather Control offers safety all year round and without burning a hole in the pocket.
Markings and Availability
The Bridgestone A001 Weather Control is marked M+S, meaning suitable in mud and snow, revealing its all weather characteristics. The tyre will be available in eleven dimensions to fit nearly all small and compact cars.
Once you are in with A001 Weather Control, the seasons no longer matter!
