Goodyear NCT5 Tyres – General Overview

The Goodyear NCT5 tyres are grand touring summer tyres and will not provide adequate traction on snow and ice. The tyres are available in a wide range of sizes for fitting medium 15 inch rims right upto the large 21 inch fitments. The profile heights vary from 50 to 70mm.

Goodyear NCT5 Tyres – Performance

• Superior Steering Responsiveness

Steering responsiveness of the tyre depends on the contact patch between the tread and the surface. When the contact area is more, the grip is higher, resulting in better steering responsiveness. In the Goodyear NCT5 tyres, the asymmetrical tread pattern exhibits radial blades on the shoulder tread, which maximise the contact patch. The radial blades also ensure lateral stability at all times.

• Enhanced Wet Traction

Part of the asymmetric tread design is the presence of circumferential grooves in the central tread area that deflect surface water and deliver traction and safety on wet surface. In the Goodyear NCT5 tyres, this function is super efficient because (a) the central grooves are extra large and (b) they are equipped with diagonal blades that speed up the water deflection. Hence there is enhanced resistance to aquaplaning and you have very low chances of skidding on wet surface.

• Fuel Efficiency

The silica derived compound of the Goodyear NCT5 tyres lowers rolling resistance to reduce fuel consumption, enhancing fuel efficiency and improving mileage.

• Reduced Tyre Noise

The computer optimised arrangement of the radial blades on the outer tyre shoulder minimises noise generated by the tyres.

I bought these tyres to replace Bridgestone Turanza.fitted to front. bridgestones were on par with goodyear nct5s.But got 3000 miles more on NCTs. plus saving £35 aprox. Fitted by young Gary . National depot Pontypridd. No problems. Will be going back for rear tyres,in near future.Mel.

THERE WERE NO BALANCE WEIGHTS FITTED TO THE REAR WHEELS, ALTHOUGH I PAID FOR ALL FOUR WHEELS TO BE BALANCED. THE ORIGINAL TYRES REQUIRED BALANCING ON ALL FOUR WHEELS. I WOULD WELCOME AN EXPLANATION, OR A REFUND !

would have liked the ones i ordered ,the eco ones that you could not get in time petrol milage not as good as eco ones

It is much too early to gauge tread wear. There has been little rain recently to tell how well they behave in wet weather. I drive fairly sedately so 'cornering at speed' does not really apply. I have the same tyres fitted to my Honda Accord. The main selling point for me was the price: to find a good brand at a decent price, rather than a 'cheap' tyre, which in my experience is a waste of money.

I have found over the last 10 years or so this brand of tyres have given me exceptionally good mileage - partly due to my driving pattern and the way I try and drive -anticipating slowdowns rather than aggresive braking (and acceleration for that matter)
